Phindile Mngadi is an author, film-maker, theatre practitioner and drama teacher at Crawford Preparatory Lonehill. She was born and raised in Durban. She moved to Pietermaritzburg to study at the University of KwaZulu Natal. She did her Bachelor’s degree in Drama and Media Studies, and completed it in 2013. In 2014 she did her honours in Drama and Performance Studies. Miss Mngadi has been involved in various productions. To mention a few; she has appeared as Dope in King Baabu, Leo the Lion in Tortoises Dream and Mrs Tenant in Casanova. She wrote and directed Faces of Marikana, Apadem and Black-blocked. She is also into film, currently working on different productions under her company ThickSkull Pictures. Miss Mngadi is a creative and passionate individual who always go beyond to master her craft. She believes that storytelling and writing can be used to bring equality in our country, and to re-educate people.
