22-year-old Tanzanian Audrey Seme is passionate about music and animation. Armed with a BA in Motion Picture Medium and a BA Honours in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA Johannesburg, Seme has set her sights on delving into the world of cinematography through the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy.
Alongside film, Seme’s dream career also includes becoming a music composer, and her aim is to inspire other young women who also want to build a career in the entertainment industry. Seme is deeply inspired by the African continent’s numerous cultures and traditions, and how they are rooted in the stories that emerge from Africa’s creative industries. It’s no surprise then that given the chance to create any TV show, Seme would produce one centred on the artistic talents of young Tanzanians.
“[The] artistic side of Tanzania is hidden from the country. l would like to showcase this [as a] TV show to inspire other youths to show their talent,” says Seme.
