“I am hoping to gain professional storytelling guidance, be part of a network of film-hungry, hardworking collaborators, enhance my story telling capabilities and also help me find a vivid voice on how I should articulate my own philosophy in this art form,” says 27-year-old creative Emmanuel Mwape from Zambia. Citing movies such as Queen of Katwe and United Kingdom as some of his favourite films, Emmanuel has dreams of one creating such movies as a future filmmaker. Another inspiration in the industry is Zambian director and screenwriter Jessie Chisi “because she has shown her own distinctive artistic voice and her attributes of building a great film empire, I am privileged to have met her and the encounter made me realize the potential I have in this industry through her sincere critics of my amateur short films.”
