Home is where the jollof rice is. If you don’t believe that, ask 25-year-old Ghanaian filmmaker Patience Adisenu. Born in Accra, Patience holds a BFA Television Production and has a passion for sports.

For her, the food is one of the best things about Africa, and what gets her fired up about the continent’s creative industry is the culture and heritage.

Her favourite films are Searching for Sugar Man, The Usual Suspects, Love Brewed in the African  and Kukurantumi-Road to Accra. Love Brewed in the African also happens to be the first film she ever saw.

If Patience could create a TV show, it would be a reality show on crime and investigations, with the aim revealing hidden truths and showcasing how things occur in different dimensions.

Her favourite film stars are Nigerian actress Nse Ikpe and Ghanaian actor Henry Adofo. The African creative that inspires her the most is American-Ghanaian filmmaker Leila Djansi, who inspires Patience to create films about her society without prejudice.

As a MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy student, Patience hopes to gain a broad spectrum of knowledge, as well as network and collaboration opportunities that can possibly lead to future productions.
